These terms cover the Bloks desktop application, the Bloks mobile and watch apps, this website, and any hosted services operated under the Bloks name, together, "Bloks". By using any of them you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Bloks.
1. What Bloks is
Bloks is a workspace for running AI agents. The desktop application runs on your own computer, stores its data on your own computer, and connects to AI providers using credentials that you supply. Bloks orchestrates those providers; it is not itself an AI model, does not resell model access, and is not in the path of your provider traffic.
2. The free desktop app and its license
The desktop application is free to use and licensed under the Functional Source License, Version 1.1, with an MIT future license (FSL‑1.1‑MIT). Each release becomes MIT licensed two years after it ships. The license text travels with the source code and is the authoritative statement of your rights; in short, you may use, read, modify and redistribute the software for anything except offering Bloks itself, or a substantially similar product, as a commercial service. The free app is not a trial, does not expire, and paid tiers never remove features from it.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or older where your country requires it, and legally able to enter this agreement. If you use Bloks for an organization, you confirm you may bind that organization, and "you" includes it.
4. Your providers, your keys
Agents think by calling AI providers such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Google or xAI, and act through services you connect such as email, calendars or code hosting. You supply those credentials, those relationships are between you and those providers, and their terms and pricing govern that usage. You are responsible for what your agents do with the access you give them, including any charges your provider bills you.
5. Agents act on your behalf
Bloks is built so that consequential actions stop and ask you first, but AI systems make mistakes and you remain responsible for supervising your agents. Do not grant an agent access you would not grant a fallible assistant. Review anything an agent does with money, with messages sent in your name, or with destructive operations on files. Between you and us, everything your agents produce with your prompts and your keys is yours.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Bloks to:
- break the law, or direct agents to break it for you;
- access systems, accounts or data you are not authorized to access;
- send spam or other unsolicited bulk communication;
- probe, overload or disrupt services we or others operate;
- develop weapons, malware, or surveillance of others;
- violate the terms of the AI providers or services you connect.
7. Hosted services and subscriptions
Some parts of Bloks are services we operate: this website, the waitlist, the pairing relay, and, when it launches, Bloks Cloud. For any paid service we will state the price, the billing period and how to cancel before you pay, and billing runs through a payment processor; we never see your card number. Subscriptions renew until cancelled, cancelling stops the next renewal and keeps the service until the paid period ends, and refunds are handled reasonably and as consumer law requires. We may change or discontinue hosted services; if we discontinue a paid one, unused paid time is refunded.
8. Beta features
Features marked beta, preview or experimental are offered as previews: they may change, break or disappear, and they carry no service commitment while so marked.
9. Intellectual property and feedback
The Bloks name, marks and this website are ours. The source code is licensed as described in section 2. Your data is yours. If you send feedback or suggestions, you grant us the right to use them without obligation, which is the ordinary arrangement that lets a maintainer act on a good idea.
10. No warranty
Bloks is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non‑infringement. We do not warrant that Bloks will be uninterrupted or error‑free, or that agents will behave as intended.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of Bloks. Our total liability for any claim relating to Bloks is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or fifty US dollars. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Indemnity
If your use of Bloks in breach of these terms causes a third party to bring a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of that claim. This is the mirror of section 5: your agents, your access, your responsibility.
13. Termination
You can stop using Bloks at any time; deleting ~/.bloks removes everything the desktop app knows. We may suspend or end access to hosted services for material breach of these terms, with notice and a chance to respond except where the breach is causing active harm. The desktop app is yours under its license regardless.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Bloks evolves. Material changes are announced on this page with an updated date and, for paid subscribers, by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Bloks after a change means you accept the updated terms.
15. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the law of the operator’s place of establishment, without regard to conflict‑of‑law rules, except where the consumer protection law of your country of residence applies regardless. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stands. Questions go to legal@bloks.dev.
